My Blog
I really enjoy meeting, helping and mentoring others who are learning about and working with the Microsoft .NET platform.

Here is the deal:

  • You buy lunch and you can pick my brain for 45 minutes or so.
What I get out of it:
  • I get to meet other people.
  • Make connections within the local .NET community.
  • Learn how others are using .NET.
  • Share my knowledge.
What you get out of it:
  • Answers to your questions.
  • Learn a bit more about me and my approach.
What works best:
  • Before we meet, let me know a bit about what you are trying to do and what is holding you up. At my discretion, I might do a bit of research into the subject if I don't already have a solution.
  • Bring source listings but don't expect me to read and understand 20 pages of code.
  • This should be a relaxing engagement for all involved. Please don't expect an immediate answer to your time-critical, up-against-the-wall, gotta-have-an-asnwer-today issue.
  • Try to keep the number of people attending down to a minimum. Too many people really limit the level of productivity. We have a limited period of time.
  • I work in the Fountain District area of Bellingham, WA. As much as I love Fairhaven, on the south side limits the time that I can give you.
  • Leave your laptop at work or at home. I find it difficult to work with the IDE and eat at the same time.
  • I hope to answer your question, give you a gentle push in the right direction or write up a simple example that you can then incorporate into your project. I am not able to write your application for you.
  • If you are not a developer, but want to talk about some higher level issues or how .NET can help you, these lunch engagements can help you too.
If you think this is something that might work for you, feel free to contact me. If you don't think this works for you or you are looking for someone else to do the work, lets talk about a more traditional consulting arrangement.
